SoC: Letting Go

They were late. The Light Festival had been ages ago.
But it was okay. At the time of the Festival he hadn't been ready for it to happen again yet.
Last time he had wished to find Kel. This time. . . he didn't know what to wish for. He would have just stared at the water, not able to let anything go. Not able to let her go.
And he didn't want to stand there alone again.

A while after the festival though he'd seen her again. Had one last chance to talk. To really tell her goodbye. Tell her he was sorry, that he'd found Kel, that he wanted to tell her he was okay. He wasn't quite there yet though. There was so much left to do still. So much he kept putting off. Not ready to deal with it yet. It seemed to only be because of Louka that he'd made it this far in his emotional understanding of how he felt about Evah.

Somehow he and Kel had ended up here now. Just floating in the water in silence, something that was starting to be more of a comfort to him than noise, a simple paper lantern twirling lazily between their hands burning blue like before. At first for a wish to stand out, now for remembrance of the one they had lost.

He thought he'd be ready for this. Ready to do something as simple as let a silly little lantern float down the stream. But for what it meant. . . he just couldn't seem to let go yet.
He wanted to. To let her move on and to move on like she wanted them to.

As the light started to wane more Emiris eventually dragged himself upright, still keeping the lantern from going anywhere. He kept staring at it, even as Kel moved around behind him to the side. His wings were soaked, the other lanterns that were there for some reason he didn't know floating by them and he didn't care about any of it. Clinging to the small light in his hands afraid that just maybe there was something he'd missed. Afraid that it wasn't time yet. Afraid of so many ifs, maybes, buts.

His spiral of thoughts was interrupted as Kel reached around and took his hands with his own, gently pulling them back away from the lantern and helping him to let go. Let the small light drift freely down the stream of clear water.

For some reason that simple action made everything feel right. And while it became even more prominent that the line of who was who's Guardian was blurred almost to the point of being invisible.
But that was okay too.
It just felt right. And as Kel's form was enveloped with light and shifted Emiris leaned over into his neck as his maw dropped down to rest on his shoulder.

They'd be okay. They were together after all.

Hrrmmm yeah derp |D we're sooo late with this but whateves. Totally spliced the hanfu event with this one too like a loser. XD
It was worth it to finally have a pic of these two bebes together and to get to collab with Solie.
They grow so fast. Super adorbs little cuddle bugs now.

First collab with Solie and I gave her this pain in the butt pic lines |DD
I remember doing the swirl patterns on their clothes and starting going "Oh this is a nice easy pattern 8D" and by the time I got one done I was like "BI *supergrump* ffffff"
Love the colors she picked though~ =u= *pets them*
