This is my rp character for because suddenly I feel like jumping out of my comfort zone. XD
Name: Trance Clemins Aka: Era, Tera, Terry

Height: 168 cm or ~ 5ft 6in (He's a little short for his age)
Race: Meridian (See home world description) Fish
Original World: Cephorim (se-for-im) Everyday: A world where everyone has at least one form of elemental magic from the eight elements Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, Dark, Metal and Plasma/Lightning. However, not everyone has the natural talent to use this magic and therefore only about half the world's population choose to dabble in magic, and only about half of them are actually good at it. The rest simply use magic to enhance their weapons, armor and everyday life. Therefore everything in the world is oriented around magic, from the lights in the houses to the canons atop the castle walls. Creatures: The people of Cephorim consist of Humans, Monsters and the "in between" Meridians who can shift between the appearance of a human or a monster, although some are closer to one side than the other. The Meridians and Monsters have about the same lifespans which can be up to 2.5X that of a healthy human, however most Monsters have a much lower intelligence than Humans and some species end up as livestock or pets. The Meridians, being the middle race, vary in intelligence in accordance to the other two races. Government: There are a variety of settlements both on land, in the sky, and above or below the water ranging from small feral villages headed by chiefs to sophisticated kingdoms ruled by kings and nobility. The 5 largest kingdoms are spread throughout the world, and are interlinked in traffic, money and cultures. The only major wars lasting more than a few months in the past 700 years have been small and usually between the feral settlements.
Personality: Trance tends to be a relaxed busy body, he always seems to be running somewhere and have any number of tasks to complete, but is perfectly able to spend all day on one thing if that's what ends up happening. Once one thing is done, he moves on to the next and has a hard time sitting still unless he's working on something besides eating. He loves his job as a servant to the Earl Groam and has adopted a personality trait where he's happy to help anyone if they ask. However, because of this job he has been surrounded by only males from the age 3 to 12 and even then the only woman who was around was his mother. Therefore he's an absolute idiot when it comes to interacting with girls and has developed an extreme and irrational fear of single women. While he's quite content with his life with the Earl, Trance eventually wants to travel to different cities and see many different cultures. He's not too much of a fan of sleeping outside for weeks on end though, and would probably stick to the areas with beds. Fighting prowess: Trance is one of the few who are highly skilled in different magic elements. His main classification would be an ice user since his skills lean towards the cooler end of the water spectrum. His emphasis is on speed and his smaller size makes him a heck of a target to hit. His defensive style adds to this with most of his defense moves focused on redirecting his opponent instead of blocking them. His attack strength sucks though, because he leans more towards healing than fighting. He's quite the pacifist and will never intentionally start a fight.
History: Trance's parents are also fish Meridians and hail from the largest underwater city of Airius where they publicly hold the status equivalent to Archduke and Archduchess. When Trance was three they were traveling through the city of Mourim (part of the plains kingdom) when an evacuation order separated him from his family. He was soon picked up by the Earl Groam who took him home where his servants quickly adopted him into their family. Trance was unable to say his own name clearly at that age (usually sounded like Terance) and was given the nickname "Era" once they had gotten fed up with trying to figure out what he was saying. Trance adapted easily to his new life and gradually picked up jobs around the manor. Eventually he became the main caretaker for the Earl's ice wyverns after subduing the bull wyvern by overpowering its magic with his own. (This was around when he was 14). His parents we found when he was 12 and now live comfortably in a smaller house within the grounds of Earl's estate. Trance lives with them, but continues to help out around the manor where only the Earl, his family and a few of the servants are aware the Trance holds a social status higher than the man he serves and could leave if he wanted to. Random fact: The Earl Groam's manor runs more like a mercenary guild than a nobleman's home. Most of the servants pick what job they want that day and the others fill in what's left. The mess hall is just as rowdy, and their mannerisms are almost the same as a mercenary. When the Earl or his family are present, they are much more well behaved though.
Trance at a glance: -Hold the status of Arch prince from his dad but serves under an Earl. -Easy going, light hearted, happy kid who's could be considered sheltered and an idiot around people who don't know him. -Is book smart, but street dumb. -Falls into a cleric class with ice as his magic. -Helps takes care of the Earls ice wyverns. -Is terrified of single women and tends to go silent and fidget around them. Stutters when spoken to. (He wasn't able to ask Aequitas any questions and simply nodded or shook his head.) -Has a softer, quiet voice, the opposite of 90% of the people living around him. -Scares easily. -Very uneasy in one-on-one fights, prefers backup positions. -Loves to help people and would most likely do what you asked with a "Yes sir/ma'am". More likely to if you're a girl. -His favorite island of Telia is Aquarius, for obvious reasons. -Has incredibly fast reflexes.
The chains: The chains on Trance's arms are in fact criminal's chains, but they were accidentally stuck on him when he tried to capture a thief at the Earl's manor. The police grabbed him in the dark instead of the thief, who got away only to be caught by the staff later. Because of the nature of the world, criminal chains have several magic locks on them and to prevent a jail break of multiple inmates, each set of cuffs has only one key to unlock them. The system is similar to a keypad locked door where a password unlocks it although not exactly. If it was, each key would hold a code of around 20 or so letters and numbers which aren't recorded. Which means, if a key is broken, those cuffs wont be able to be opened. This is what happened to Trance, the key to his cuffs was broken during the squabble and he's been stuck with them for about 3 years now. The Earl has asked people to work on making a new key, but there are millions of 'codes' and finding the right one is time consuming. They can't pull the 'code' from the broken key or the cuff either. Because of the cuffs, the Earl gave Trance the collar he wears to show that he's not a criminal. The medallion on the collar has a white butterfly koi fish on it, which is the Earl's symbol, and shows that Trance works for him. ___________________________________________
I'm willing to role play with others, but I prefer novel format to script format, so it'd be nice to have a forum where the posts stay and I can jump on whenever I have time. ^_^
