Points for Ares! =3=

"Leave this false paradise of golden chains. . .
Get Out of Eden."

_________________________________________________
This pic was inspired by the title and rhythm of the Vocaloid song Out of Eden. (Not the actual translation to it. ^^; )

Also, as you probably already noticed, this is one of those symbolic pictures. After all it's pretty much impossible for Evah and Emiris to be in the same picture when he looks like that. ^^;

Now to break down the picture for those who don't want to try and figure out the meaning themselves. XD

First of all this image shows concepts from the point of view of both Cealius and Ares (and Earthra, though not as much.) So some things might look out of place depending on how you're looking at them.

This is also heavily influenced by the idea of Eden as a paradise. However, it focuses on the idea of a human attempt at paradise or on the idea that Eden isn't a real paradise. Those who are in the paradise are in states of ignorant bliss. They don't know any better, so they think that their 'Eden' really is a paradise. This is essentially how I see Caelius/Helia. It's/She's a faction/person that is so absorb with making a paradise and having perfection that they've become blind to the truth. They're steeped in so many strict laws with only justice in mind that the laws have become confining aspects instead of what protects them.

So, with that in mind, I'll label what most of the stuff represents and for some of them the reason I included them, starting with the apple since it's most obviously a symbol XD.
:bulletred:The apple: In the classic story of Eden the apple was what represented what was forbidden. In here it's the same thing, but more specifically it's the representation of Truth. As a race of Caelian origin Emiris grew up being taught that Cealius basically was a paradise and that their laws were always right and just. Like all other Guardians of Earthra or Caelius, he had quite a bit of favor towards people of Caelius, even idolizing those from there a little. Now when he met Evah she started to show him that Cealius wasn't always right. Not all Areans were scum or violent by nature, they weren't a perfect paradise where everyone was happy all the time, and so on. So Evah is giving Emi the truth that Caelius is basically a distopian faction and that one of the basic foundations of the Guardian culture is wrong. Emiris is taking the apple willingly with his Fallen markings showing because he accepts that truth, especially after Caelians killed Evah and have tried to kill him twice for false or greedy reasons.
:bulletred:The golden chains: These represent the previous beliefs Emiris had in Caelius as well as the laws of Caelius. They are only around Emiris because he was the one confined and hindered by those things. They're also mostly on his wings because 1.they're precious to him and shows and incentive to remain passive, 2. they reinforce the idea of confinement since wings usually represent freedom, and having them chained represents entrapment. Also, it might be a little hard to see, but the chains that Evah is holding in her other hand that's raised are breaking. That should be easy enough to figure out why. :|
:bulletred: The drapey white clothing: Generally when I think of paradise or angelic theme pictures I think of white and gold. So that in combination with the idea that white usually represents innocence or purity is why I chose the color. Then the style was influenced by angelic themed pics or Greek god(desse)s.
:bulletred: Evah's expression: Yes, she is supposed to look a little evil and defiant. This is one of those things that would be from a Caelius point of view. She was seen as 'evil' or deviant because she made friends with Areans and therefore her action of breaking Emiris away from Caelius is kind of like her way of getting back at them.
:bulletred: the terms "false paradise" and "Eden": are both labels for Caelius. For reasons stated above.

aaaannnnd that's all I can think of right now. :iconpoker-faceplz:
If anyone has any questions that weren't answered feel free to ask. I always forget things when typing. ^^;

Just to put this out there: Having the feathers bend like they are on his left wing (picture right) is actually not a good idea. ^^; If they were that flexible all the time they probably wouldn't be able to fly with them. BUT, it looks nice and makes it easier to fit wings in a picture.

Shout out thanks to those gorgeous people who watched me on Livestream while i was working on this. :iconiloveitplz:
Like I said there, I never want to draw so many chains in one picture again. :iconoelplz:

Conceptual artworks are one of the most interesting expressions of art. And this one is no exception.
I really admire the quantity of simbolism that you have included in this picture. Even the littlest ones, like the breaking chains! Again, it's very useful what you have written in the description of the artwork because it helps us appreciate and understand every object of the composition and its symbolism. Besides, I must say that the pose of both characters looks very natural and the folds of the cloth that's covering Emiris' legs are very well achieved.

As a matter of fact, the concept of this artwork is very interesting: I had never thought of Caelius in that way, I mean, this is kind of a new of point of view for me; even if my character is one of those Caelians who are blinded by hatred towards Ares. So yeah, it got me thinking!

Excellent artwork and concept, well done! :clap:
